10.Alize Lim
Alize Lim is a 23-year-old French tennis player who was awarded a wild card to play in her first French Open. Though her No. 138 ranking will keep her expectations modest, you can only imagine the excitement she had leading up to the unveiling of the draw. Maybe she’d luck out and draw a qualifier. Maybe she’d face a struggling player ranked in the lower half of the top 100. Maybe there’d be a slight window for her to get a win or two in her French Open debut and become the toast of Paris before nobly bowing out before the second weekend. Just maybe.
9.Ani Vangelova
Bulgaria's Ani Vangelova looks more like a model than a tennis player, and truth be told, she might have to consider modeling instead of playing tennis if her results don't pick up soon. So far, in 2014, she's lost the opening matches of all three ITF tournaments she's entered. In fact, Ani didn't even win a single set in those matches.
8.Petra Uberalova
Slovak Republic's Petra Uberalova may be ranked a lowly #354 in the world at the moment, but she's certainly attracting a lot of attention because of her stunning beauty. However, when she's asked about her movie-star good looks and her male admirers who aggressively pursue her, she's quick to divert the topic by saying, "I think I have some very beautiful namesakes. You're probably talking about someone else." Petra resorts to similar tactics when she's asked about whom she inherited her beauty from. "I still don't know what you're talking about!" she playfully replies.
7.Garbine Muguruza
Garbiñe Muguruza is certainly a name (and a face) to watch on the WTA tour. To start off 2014, she won her maiden WTA title as a qualifier at the Moorilla Hobart International in Australia, defeating veteran Klára Zakopalová 6-4, 6-0. Then, at the 2014 Australian Open, she shocked former World #1 and tenth seeded Caroline Wozniacki to make it to the fourth round.
6.Sorana Cîrstea
The cute romanian is a good all-rounder, having a controlled style which minimizes errors. Being a good doubles player, she is also a very solid net player.
Sorana Carstea has solidified her place in the top-100 in both singles and doubles in the last few years. Her highest ranking in singles is 23 and her highest ranking in doubles is 35, both achieved in 2009.
5.Camila Giorgi
Camila Giorgi, born in Macerata on December 30, 1991, is one of the most promising Italian tennis players.
She prefers fast surfaces, as she has a very athletic body that allows her to have stronger than average groundstrokes.
4.Eugenie Bouchard
Aside from making waves with her strong brand of tennis, Bouchard also
won a considerable number of male fans because of her good looks. In
fact, a cheering section, dubbed "the Genie Army", slowly grew in number
with each match that Eugenie won at the 2014 Australian Open.
3.Amandine Hesse
French tennis player Amandine Hesse has a lot to live up to given that
her nation has produced several Grand Slam champions -- some of them,
like Mary Pierce, being known for their beauty as well their great
tennis. But the 21-year-old native of Montauban seems to be doing just
fine for now despite her ranking being outside the top 200.
This hot tennis player is one of the few who got the top spot of the
rankings before ever getting a Grand Slam title. This achievement makes
her, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the best danish player ever (man or
woman). Caroline Wozniacki reached the number 1 spot in October of 2010, after winning the China Open in Beijing.
1.Julia Goerges
Julia Goerges was born in Bad Oldesloe, Germany on November 2nd 1988, where she still resides.
Her
highest singles ranking is world number 16, a feat she achieved on June
2011.In her career, Julia Goerges has reached three singles WTA
finals, winning two titles. It’s interesting to know that, while she
prefers playing on quicker surfaces, both her titles were on clay. Her
first final was won against hungarian Timea Bacsinszky in Bad Gastein,
Austria, in July 2010, in straight sets
